LoveALLogy is the art of loving like Jesus. It is our way to spread love at BeYOUtiful. Usually, we write cards to people who have survived fires and hurricanes, or we talk to someone who is having some hard times, and we memorize a verse from the book "Brave Girls." Maybe you could try to write cards or make someone feel good everyday just like us, the BeYOUtiful girls do! We'd love to share more with you.
Why LoveALLogy and What is it?
We believe that we were made to live in community. And within that community we were made to give, to love, to encourage and to inspire. So when we see a need, we try and fill it. Jesus shows us how to love, and He loves all, so we want to reflect that. This was a year of many hurricanes in the U.S. When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, we partnered with a local Stella and Dot consultant to fill pouf bags with all kinds of female toiletries and treats. We sent 50 bags total to women and girls in Houston. With each bag, the girls wrote a letter to encourage the woman receiving the bag. They included words of encouragement, verses and their sweet and unique message.
When a separate storm hit Puerto Rico, we wrote cards to encourage girls who lived through this horror. We partnered with a missionary in Sacramento who visited Puerto Rico and hand-delivered BeYOUtiful t-shirts designed by one of our girls and hand-written cards from our girls. We hope that by receiving these cards, these girls feel seen and special.
LoveALLogy is a weekly effort we have committed to. When the girls aren't writing cards to mail across the country, they're writing cards to a loved one who just had surgery, to a friend who is struggling, to a sibling to say "I love you." Their weekly efforts are shared with the people around them. We hope that as they share God's light, many will feel just how much He loves them.
The Handicraft Fair
The Handicraft Fair has become an annual endeavor. Last year it started as a way to raise funds to donate a hand-drilled water well via World Vision. At our first fair, the girls made earrings, necklaces, thank you cards and baked cookies. We raised a total of $1100! To reach our goal, the girls also put up lemonade stands near their homes, saved chore money, and had a garage sale. This year, we embarked on another journey making pom poms, tassels, slime, stationary cards, and baked goods and we are so pleased to say that we filled the gap and reached our $3,000 goal. World Vision will now be sending those funds to help a community in need of water, hygiene and more. We are so thrilled that God took the girls' desire to connect with a community across the globe and made it a reality. He planted the seed of love in their hearts and made it grow. Working together for this cause was fun, exhilarating, tiring and the best! Now we have a new project to look forward to. Stay tuned for more information.
