Everyone has a story to tell. When we make the connection between our story and God's great story, we come away with HIStory, which involves each and every one of us.
Oh to be a good writer! I was listening to a fascinating webinar by Lisa TerKeurst, president of Proverbs 31 Ministries, and she shared how good writers “notice life.” I couldn’t help it but think about all the opportunities I’ve missed in life by not noticing the beauty God has given me on any given day.
Well, I’m certain it’s no surprise that all of these thoughts and desires are stirring in my heart as we approach the month of November. So I thought it would be wonderful to start the season of Thanksgiving by noticing life in our every day and documenting it. Let’s notice the ins and outs of our day and thank Him for one thing we notice each day. I don’t think we have to wait until November to do this, so let’s start early! Let’s start a wave of “noticing.” I’ll go first…
Father, thank you so much that this morning I woke up to a loving, sweet husband who took care of the girls so I could stay in bed with this terrible cold. Thank you that my sweet friend Lori graciously agreed to pick up my girls from school and bring them home for me so I don’t have to leave the house. And thank you that my sweet Sophie came into the room and said “mami I took out the garbage from the bathroom because it was full.” It certainly was full of my yucky Kleenex. J I don’t think I’ve ever asked her to do this. She noticed and she did it without me telling her. I’m grateful for this! Now it’s your turn…
