Everyone has a story to tell. When we make the connection between our story and God's great story, we come away with HIStory, which involves each and every one of us.
Oh Heavenly Father, may we “offer you a sacrifice of praise on this day as we confess your name.”a As we think of your goodness, we bless your great Name and worship You in “Spirit and in Truth.”b. At this time we confess our sins and our lack of faith. Please help us “overcome our unbelief;”c especially as we pray for the people of Nepal – help us to believe in Your power and faithfulness to the ends of the earth.
As we enter Your throne room with heavy hearts and a contrite spirit we plead for those suffering in Nepal at this time. We pray for those in critical condition at the various hospitals and clinics. May Your healing hand touch the women, men and children suffering from immense pain. Strengthen their hearts and bodies. Anoint the nurses and doctors caring for these patients; that they would be quick and wise to make decisions and bring the necessary aid to their patients. Please multiply the supply of blood at the blood banks. May all necessary supplies be readily available to the care teams. We pray for stamina for the caregivers and medical teams. As more nurses and physicians travel to Nepal, we pray for traveling mercies. Please keep them safe and healthy so they may continue to care for all those in need. Bless the hands that are serving You. “…fan into flame the gift of God”d which you have granted our brothers and sisters in Christ who are assisting the people of Nepal, that You may be glorified. We pray for Your healing hand upon each and every grieving soul who has lost a loved one. We lift up the orphans and the widows and pray for Your provision over their lives. Please send in an abundance of shelter, food, water and blankets to all the victims so that they may experience Your love and come to know You as their Lord and Savior. We pray that they would “dwell in the shelter of the Most High (and) … rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”e We pray that You would guide us to bring a helping hand to the victims from afar. May we “not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.”f Oh to serve You, Father - make that our only hearts desire; a love like Yours! Unite us in prayer across borders. Unite us in praying “in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be(ing) alert and always … praying for all the Lord's people.”g We pray for Your people of Nepal suffering because of this earthquake. Bless their lives and focus their minds on Your everlasting joy and the promise that awaits Your children. We pray these things with confidence that You are faithful to answer them. We give You all honor and glory forevermore. In Jesus’s Name, Amen. I invite you to pray the above prayer over Nepal this week and add your heart's prayer as the Spirit leads you. Praying scripture over our circumstances is powerful so I have included various verses from His Word. -In His Love, Damaris Avila (a) (Hebrews 13:15) (b) (John 4:24) (c) (Mark 9:24) (d) (2 Timothy 1:6) (e) (Psalm 91:1) (f) (Hebrews 13:2) (g) (Ephesians 6:18)

Damaris U. Avila lives with her loving husband and their two inquisitive and sweet girls. Through personal storytelling, she invites women to share and see themselves in God's story. She leads young girls through BeYOUtiful Girl Time, a sisterhood where girls are encouraged to become the women God designed them to be.
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."
