Everyone has a story to tell. When we make the connection between our story and God's great story, we come away with HIStory, which involves each and every one of us.
As we all prepare for Thanksgiving next week, let's make this year radically different from past celebrations. Please, enjoy the great aroma, food, dessert, family and friends, take it all in this season. But let's take it a step further and in the midst of it all, stop to praise Him, the King of Kings, Lord of Lords. God deserves nothing less than praise and total reverence. Let's revere Him in all that we do. From the moment you arrive at your Thanksgiving celebration to the time you leave, demonstrate His presence in your life in all that you say and do. Don't worry about being that guest who can't stop talking about Jesus. It will be contagious and you just may cause others to do the same. Wouldn't that be great? During the good and the bad, we are to sing His praises, as hard as that may be. As you think about your life and all that has happened this past week, month or year, think about the good. It's easy to get fixated on the bad, but remember that we have the most amazing gift ever to exist, eternal life in Him! Let's fixate on this truth. Lose yourself in this promise. We have life because we have The Word in our midst and that Word gives us life. That Word is full of the Spirit which is life, eternal life, and that Word is in us if we remain in Him. Let's yell out an "amen!" The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life. - John 6:63 A year ago I wasn't able to join in on the turkey, stuffing, salad, dessert, all the yumminess that comes with Thanksgiving. You bet I'm going to have several servings of all the above this year :-) But more importantly, my heart overflows with gratitude and joy that I am able to celebrate with my adorable daughters, sweet husband and amazing family. I didn't know if I'd get another chance and as I read John 6:63, I can't help it but think about the Spirit in me, His gift to us. It gives me life. And today I have life, not because of anything I've done, but simply because of His love. His love overflows. My prayer this year is that as we gather around the dinner table, we can all stop, look up, and revere and praise Him for His providence in our life. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. - John 15:7-8 He is The Word! Praise Him, worship Him, exalt His name this Thanksgiving! May this song glorify Him today. Toward's the end of this video, there's a real gem. May it bless your life!
